Care of Candles
To ensure the correct handling of your candles, please follow these instructions when unpacking and burning your candles.
Unpacking Cartons
The URN candles need special care, as they are hand painted with a water-based paint technique and is non-toxic. When removing them from cartons, be extremely careful. When taking the packaging off with a sharp instrument, take care not to scratch the paint. Click for More >
The BUSHMAN AND ZULU candles are hand painted by a local South African artist. And the above instructions apply. When placing the Ball candles in the Tripod stands, make sure the felt attached to the stand is in place. This cushions the candle from permanent damage; apply extra cushioning if this is going to be a permanent display. Click for More >
The CHILLI AND PORCUPINE candles are packed in their own individual boxes. Open both ends of the boxes simultaneously, and gently slide the candle out - taking care not to damage the quills or the dried chillies. The quills are very sharp and you may wish to trim them and the chillies are very brittle and are easily broken. Click for More >
The CAPPUCCINO AND VANILLA candles are made using high-density dye and must be displayed on stands to avoid the colour staining.
Try to handle all the candles as little as possible, the oil from your hands may distort them and eventually the candles will take on a shiny look. Click for More >
Care When Burning
All the candles are hand made from fully refined wax with no additives used, making each candle unique. To ensure even burning a double braided wick is used and the scent is of top quality. Keep all the candles in a cool place at all times; do not place them in direct sunlight or under strong spotlights. This could result in the wax expanding and contracting and this will affect the technique used on the candle, it will crack.
- IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE WICK TRIMMED TO 1.5CM OR O.5 INCH TO AVOID SMOKING
- ALWAYS PLACE CANDLE ON A FIREPROOF BASE. NEVER LEAVE ANY FLAME UNATTENDED OR NEAR CHILDREN
- DO NOT BURN IN A DRAFT
- ALL CANDLES ARE BURNT AT YOUR OWN RISK
